Friday Wrap Up

Happy Friday blogettes! It was a jam packed week over here with so many lovely features I can hardly wait for Monday again. Because Monday is all about this stunning wedding above from Amanda K Photo Art; just you wait for all the gorgeousness. From the rad bridal party, the stunning bride, the insanely creative reception backdrop; really I am running out of adjectives to describe my true felings on this wedding so you'll have to sit tight over the weekend. I'll be in Detroit scouting out venues for a 2012 bride but tell me, what are all of you up to this Father's Day weekend? In the meantime here's a little recap for you all! xo

Friday Wrap Up

First of all, did you guys happen to catch this wedding over on Once Wed by mastermind Jose Villa? From observation, it looks like three of the six bridesmaids are wearing Louboutons. Which makes me slightly (ok, incredibly) jealous. Secondly, I don't know about any of you but I am pretty thrilled it's finally Friday. This past week sort of dragged on for me so this weekend I am hoping to take a little time aside to just relax and unplug. Besides, with the beautiful weather we've been blessed with lately how could I not take advantage of mister sunny? Here's to hoping that all of you do the same this holiday weekend.

In other news, there were tons of gorgeous posts over here this week so hopefully you didn't miss out on too much. And even better, I have so many fabulous things coming to you soon, like the big girl cave reveal (wait until you see the rug I bought!), some teasers for an upcoming Inspiration Shoot, and finally (this has been a tough secret to keep!) a freshened up look over here as Hey Gorg makes the much needed and anticipated move to Wordpress. You faithful Hey Gorg-ers are going to just adore the fun new look, improved navigation and usability over here, I promise! As usual, here's a look back at this week:

{Monday} This pretty peach-hued fete kick-started the week
{The Biz} Be sure to check out the latest cave progress post
{Tuesday} Wedding. Vera Wang. Need I say anything else?
{Pep-Talk} Probably one of my fave pep-talks I've eva done!

Friday Wrap Up

Do you married chicks ever catch yourself saying "If I could do it all over again I would blah blah blah," because I think I mutter this exact statement oh, let's see, probably about 3-4 times daily. I did it again today too, when I found the wedding shown above by Love Me Do Photography. I sort of want to kick myself for not being so stylin' on my own wedding day. Thankfully to make up for feelings of wedding day prettiness inadequacy, I had a lot of fun over here this week. Between the progress on my girl cave (did I tell you I ordered my chairs finally? ohmygoshilovethem), finding a photog who is going to be taking photos of the finished product, getting to be a part of a fun little photo shoot with a bunch of beautiful girls and scoring two beautiful gowns for our shoot in June, I just feel like things are slowly falling into place. Plus it's my birthday in a couple weeks. I turn 25. And I love birthday cake. So things are good.

The weather today is out of this world. It's sunny, the air smells like spring and the temperature feels like May finally. Not February. And I'm a wee bit too excited about it. I went on a cleaning frenzy this morning and amongst the smells of Pine sol and Downy sheets the sweet spring air drifted in and out of the apartment putting a huge smile on my face. And now someone is cutting the grass outside our apartment and I wish I had a sprinkla to go run throw like right about now. Yeah I said sprinkla. It sounds a little bit cooler that way. Be sure to check out the gorgeousness from this week, blogettes and enjoy your weekend. Anyone have exciting plans?

{Monday} A Chicago city rooftop wedding. And sparkly Jimmy Choos.
{The Biz} You guys absolutely loved the pink wall in my new girl cave!
{Tuesday} This is what happens when you put blue and yellow together.
{Pep-Talk} Discussing whether or not to merge all finances in a marriage.
{Wednesday} I am such a sucker for big balloons. And brides who DIY.
{Thursday} A little sneak peak of that time I got to play model for a day.

{Blooms} Paper blooms that is. The prettiest paper blooms I've ever seen.
{Advice} If I could give you all one piece of advice it would be to do this.
{Decor} Just when you thought DIY sort of wasn't your thing this happens.
{Yum} I may or may not be making these little treats for dinner tomorrow.
{Stunner} This beauty of a wedding nearly knocked me off my size 7 feet.
{Giveaway} Don't miss this rather nice little gem of a giveaway over here.

Friday Wrap Up

Oh jesh I tried so very hard not to make any reference to the Royal Wedding in this post but whose kidding who; a little piece of history unfolded today and I am proud to say I was able to watch it all in the wee hours of 3:00 am. Was I the only chick who felt like she too was getting married today thanks to my inability to fall asleep last night? I will never forget the image engraved in my mind of Kate climbing into the car with her father, millions of eyes watching her with bated breath. I'll never forget how sweet it was to watch her hold back her giggles and smiles during the ceremony as her and William stole glances from one another. And I can confidently say that her custom made Sarah Burton gown which fit perfectly with her modern but timeless look will inspire thousands of brides-to-be over the next few years. Kate you are the epitome of regalness, of glamour, of what it means to be a lady. And millions adore you.

In other news, I've been doing a little soul searching on the blogging front. A few changes will be coming to Hey Gorg and I hope you'll be excited to welcome them along with me. My girl cave is coming along nicely thanks to a few new vintage purchases (I can't wait to share them with you) and Apb and I are headed out this weekend to go shopping for some new pieces for our apartment. All in all life is pretty good. A little crazy, a little unpredictable but hey that's how it goes. As usual, here's what went down this week over here in case you missed any of the fabulousness that ensued. Above photo from Vogue by Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images.

{Monday} Brought this dream-like Spanish-inspired destination wedding from Miami.
{My Clients} Are so sweet and so in love. And I can not wait for their wedding day!
{Tuesday} I get to work with this photographer next month. And I feel so lucky for it.
{Pep-Talk} A little tried and tested skin care to look your bridal best on your big day.
{The Biz} I started decorating my new office space. Come check out the progress :)
{Wednesday} Warning: Prettiness overload in this pink South Africa dream wedding.
{Thusday} This playful vintage carnival wedding puts the DIY in DIY. For real-sies.
{Friday} No FAQ. Sorry folks, I was "attending" a wedding. So come be my friend.

{Stunning} Is all that came to mind when I first laid eyes on this modern baby shower.
{Custom} Bowties. In the most fabulous of prints and colours. Need I say any more?
{Wall Art} This will be gracing my office wall regardless of having no meaning at all.
{Live Here} In this rainbow-inspired home from London. Secret hidden slide? So rad.
{Register} Here brides-to-be. I'm still trying to find an excuse to create a new registry.
{Paper} The holy grail of wall paper. With unfortunately quite the hefty price tag too.

What was your fave part of the Royal Wedding? I'd love to know!

Friday Wrap Up

Guys. This week? Was slow. Really slow. Like watching paint dry slow. Please tell me that it was just a fluke in the system or something cause I'd really hate to have missed some cool party of the year that took place over in real life. Yet, regardless of happenings outside of the blogging world, things were still happening around these parts of the web and there was plenty of gorgeousness for you to wallow in. And if you happened to miss something never fear because as usual I have gifted you with an abridged version of this week's content. Even better, next week I'll be sharing with you, the rest of the gorg photos from the super fab e-session I've given you a sneak peak of above by Onelove Photography. You know my weakness for balloons. And girls who wear brown boots like me.

In other news, I finally got a much needed manicure today. And I treated the husband to his very first pedicure (there is picture proof on my twitter. And my facebook. Poor guy). He's been walking ever so gently around the apartment telling me to check out his 'shiny toenails' and his 'soft toes' and he's getting a real kick out of telling me he feels like he's 'walking on clouds.' And that he should probably be in a foot commercial now. Sigh. Looks like my monthly girl indulgences may include an overly in-tune to his feminine side husband from now on. Not that I'm complaining though; maybe next time he'll pick up the tab for the both of us. Happy Friday loves!

{Monday} Wait until you see the crazy ceremony backdrop for this stunner.
{Tuesday} Brought this strawberries and cream themed DIY dessert table.
{Pep-Talk} Discussing the frustrating and ever-so-stereotyped "wife" role.
{Wednesday} A little Mediterranean styled celebration and a rad ring shot.
{Wednesday} The loveliest most purple-hued, intimate, DIY wedding eva.
{Thursday} An adorable e-sess and Love Story from downtown Chicago.
{Expert Files} Everything you need to know about all things pretty paper.
{Friday} Hey Gorg needs your help ladies! Check out this call for action.

{Adorable} Sophie. I adore you. Let's be friends please.
{Headbands} For babies? Oh gosh. I need a babe now.

Tell me about the best part of your week, guys!

Friday Wrap Up

Happy Friday girlfriends! And boyfriends too I suppose. Any proud wedding-loving boys out there who read this little blog o' mine? And did any of you catch this super adorable engagement session on Ruffled this morning by Ozzy Garcia Photography? I am absolutely smitten with the simplicity and warmth of the photos and of course, the incredibly obvious admiration those two have for one another. I can only imagine how lovely their wedding will be. And Andrew, my sweet newly 28 years of age husband, from now on if you need to buy me flowers please buy bouquets that look like the above and nothing else unless they are peonies. K thanks.

In other news, it's rainy here in Michigan but never the less a glorious day. I am getting into a routine these days, finding that oh so important balance between life and work and I have to say it feels good. To celebrate this weekend I'm going to enjoy life, and who knows I might get a little crazy and try not to be glued to my iPhone the whole time. I have a hair cut planned too. First one in over a year. Please don't judge me. Lucky for you, to make up for my lack of personal hygiene I have rounded up this week's goodness.

{Monday} You guys seriously adored this and this. As did I.
{Tuesday} Destination wedding goodness. And a sneak peak.
{Pep-Talk} Dun dun dun. I present to you: The Guest List.
{Wednesday} A tasty little addition to the Expert Files vault.
{Thursday} Skelly keys? Lambs? Chickens? All in one spot?
{Friday} Today's FAQ was a doozie. Kids. Weddings. Right.

Friday Wrap Up

Thank the glorious heavens. It's Friday. Did anyone else catch this incredibly stunning lavender wedding via Style Me Pretty this week? Sent in all the way from Australia (of course, they always have the most gorg weddings) every little detail was perfectly accented by the dreamy photography of Samm Blake. Don't even get me started on those lavender bouquets the maids carried too. I bet the air smelled heavenly all. flippin. day. long. I may have a new soft spot for the colour purple. And lavender. And Australia. Just sayin.

In other news, turns out Andrew and I didn't get the condo we put on offer in on two weeks ago (bummer) but are finally making the move to Grand Rapids, in just two more weeks. We found a little two bedroom apartment with a fireplace that will serve as our temporary home while we narrow down locations to build on. I've argued with him that it's neccesarry for us to build so I call wallpaper one of the walls in my office. Is that tacky? Or outrangeously cool? I think the latter. I've fallen in love with wallpaper these days. And in case you missed any of the gorgeousness around here this week, no worries. I've summed it up for you here. Lucky ducks!

{Monday} Dreamy light, incredibly photography and the best kind of love. Sigh.
{Tuesday} My not so professional but very valuable insight on branding yourself.
{Pep-Talk} Thinking of removing someone from your wedding party? Read this.
{Wednesday} This week's Expert Files. Vintage Furniture Rentals. Enough said.
{Thursday} My most fave wedding to date went up on Thursday. Perfectly gorg.
{FAQ Friday} The spark notes versin on infusing personality into your big day.

Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

Friday Wrap Up

Hello Friday. It is so nice of you to show your pretty face. I, on the other hand, was an irresponsible blogger yesterday and blogged one too many posts. Today I am paying the consequences and am now suffering a mild posting hangover but hey, three blog posts in one day will do that too you. To soothe my pain I think tonight I will make a brie cheese appetizer and a prosciutto and spinach pasta dish for the dinner party I am hosting. Can I get three cheers for a day off tomorrow? And who knows tomorrow I might celebrate a little St. Patricks day when they dye the Chicago river green. And maybe, just maybe, I will blog a little bit next week about the boudoir session I did with the fabulous Beth Kaye, one of my very own best buddies. I did an interview with her on why boudoir photos are so fun and fabulous and why you should do your own session to get classy, tasteful photos like these:

Am I ashamed of my imperfections? Na uh, no way, no how. A la Bruno Mars, I am amazing just the way I am (at least that's what the sweet hubby says) and a boudoir session will make you feel the same, I pinkie promise. I am off to clean, cook and get my entertaining face on so in the meantime you can check back on all the loveliness that was going on over here this week. It's been another fabulous week of posts and without you all it wouldn't have been possible. So thank you and I love you all.

{Monday} The Little White Dress post. You guys loved this. And I love you for it.
{Tuesday} Spring time? How about this Winter Wonderland Wedding. And I swoon.
{Pep-Talk} Personal wedding coordinators versus venue coordinators. Know the dif.
{Wednesday} A little sneak peak into my latest project in the works. So. Very. Excited.
{Thursday} I shared this gorgeous e-session. And then that same couple's wedding here.
{FAQ Friday} Read this. Now. And get my take on how to Be a Better Blogger. Amen.

Friday Wrap Up

Another week has flown by and I can hardly believe it's March already. I have to work until late tonight, but this weekend Andrew and I are off to Michigan to look at new homes; because big announcement here but at the end of March, we are moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan! While it's going to be a bittersweet transition leaving the place that started to feel like home here in Chicago it'll be nice to move somewhere closer to home where my business can continue to grow and where opportunities for the hubs can continue to flourish. I'm also overly excited to get my own office space (can you believe I don't even have a desk right now?), a spare bedroom for friends to stay in when they visit and maybe, just maybe a balcony for some cute patio furniture. It's the little things in life right friends? I'll be sure to let you know what we find sometime soon, eeep! Photo via Kiss the Groom.

And in case you missed anything here this week:

{Monday} I shared this little gem of a project. And this one too. Two DIYs in one day? Yes please.
{Tuesday} This rad DIY Oregon wedding by Nate Broshot is proof rainy wedding days are magical.
{Pep-Talk} This week's Pep-Talk Tuesday was rather controversial. And it took lots of courage to write.
{Wednesday} We got married. And we had a lovely dinner. And then we danced. And I fell in love.
{Thursday} The prettiest bouquets I have ever seen in my life. And I've seen a lot of pretty bouquets.
{FAQ Friday} For all of you lost newly-engaged folk, this week's FAQ post may be helpful. Just sayin.

Anyone have big plans this weekend? Please do share, and lots of love to all of you guys xo

Friday Wrap Up

It's been a crazy two weeks over here at Hey Gorgeous! From the double feature week over at Style Me Pretty (which you can read about here and here) to the recap overload detailing every little bitty part of our wedding day (please tell me you sort of feel like you were a guest at our wedding after this week!) I feel like I've been glued to my computer, hitting the refresh button at every opportunity I get. While Apb's away until Monday playing golf in sunny Arizona I'll be here relaxing, hopefully somewhere away from my laptop.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and don't forget to head back on Monday for an adorable diy project, fabulous news from Tasteful Tatters, two amazing real weddings, a somewhat controversial Pep Talk Tuesday post and of course the final two recaps from our wedding day; portraits and the reception. I can't wait to show off my reception dress! And the dreamy photo above is by Amanda Wilcher of me. That fabulous custom garter around my leg is by LoBoheme, who is due in less than a month with her first baby might I add. We are all thinking of you Lo! And those leaves and sticks caught in my gown? They came free of charge with the venue.

P.S. I've also been thinking of making the switch over to WordPress. Any advice from you WordPress bloggers out there? I've love to hear any and all of your thoughts and suggestions.
